We are mother and daughter Joyce & Elise living in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Elise got interested in Dog Showing in 2010 when she was persuaded to give it a go with Sassy.
A Family of Sheltie Lovers
Elise comes from a family of Sheltie owners with most of the extended family having kept Shelties. It was all started by my great uncle George. George bred and exhibited Shelties under the Westlaw affix. George’s daughter and nieces all fell in love with Shelties and adopted the breed.
Elise is the third generation of a ‘Sheltie Daft’ family to enter the world of Dog Showing. Of course, Elise couldn’t do it without mum, Joyce. Joyce is very much part of the team taking care of the day to day needs of the dogs.
A Family Affair
Sassy had her first litter in July 2012. From this litter we kept Storm, our first home grown show dog. Storm has done well gaining his Junior Warrant and was the Scottish Sheltie of the Year in 2013. Storm also got a Reserve Challenge Certificate at the Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show in August 2015.
From Sassy's second (and final) litter we got Pixie. Pixie prefers to stay at home with Joyce and chase rabbits in the park.
